I, Anjuri, am a woman in progress, broken many times, gluing herself back together by pouring gold into the shattered ceramic of her soul, much like the ancient Japanese craftsmen used to.

Childhood abuse, deeply ingrained self-loathing, a broken marriage, an inevitable divorce, a reservoir of shame, confusion and utter disillusionment defined my life until small fateful steps led me to Ayahuasca, serendipitously just 2 weeks before the India Covid Lockdowns (March 2020).

Ayahuasca is a steppingstone to understanding my past, the many illusions I had held on to, my deep angers and frustrations gawking at me, faced with my darkest fears, my first voluntary experiment with complete surrender.

She, Ayahuasca, became a mother, a teacher, a guide, a healer and an agitator.
I had long given up the brush and canvas, having been molested by my art teacher’s husband in early childhood. Just under three decades had passed without my hand hovering over a canvas, barring a few exceptions. But a week after the lockdowns began, while secluded alone in my Bombay home, I began with pens and paper, soon reaching for the brush and canvas again.

Amongst the many profound insights and visions that were granted to me, Pachamama (Ayahuasca) also helped me forgive the molester, showing me that anger was poison only to me, not the offender; and that this was my story, not his!
And so, slowly yet surely, I began painting again.

Two years on I can see that Light Codes & Divine Love flow through my fingers onto canvases, to be absorbed by beholders.
Here, on this platform I intend to bring to light the pieces inspired by my Ayahuasca ceremonies, magic mushrooms and the lifelong ceremony that is life AND the stories and meanings I see in these artpeaces.
